We are an established full-service accounting firm that has been trading (previously as TaxAssist Accountants) for over 15 years.  We have offices in both Belfast and  Lisburn but provide services to clients throughout Northern Ireland.

Our small friendly team have over 50 years’ experience in the finance / accountancy sectors and are committed to helping small businesses thrive and aim to support them on their journey.

We ensure staff keep up to date with current requirements and so our services provide everything you need to manage and grow your business, including cloud accounting, tax and compliance support, bookkeeping, payroll, business advisory, company secretarial services, and company setup to name but a few.

Team Overview

Andrew Bassett

ACMA
Owner and Director

On leaving school Andrew accepted a post with a leading UK accountancy firm (Deloitte Haskins & Sells) and studied for the Accounting Technicians Ireland qualification. Following this Andrew studied for and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant. He has held this membership since 1999.

As well as working in the accountancy sector Andrew has also worked in the social housing and legal sectors and through one of these employments achieved a qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute.

Andrew took over an existing accountancy practice located on the Cregagh Road in 2017 and the office in Lisburn was opened in 2019. Both offices were under the TaxAssist Franchise until the summer of 2024 when Andrew decided to leave the TaxAssist franchise.

Andrew is married to Patricia who also works in the business. They have 2 daughters, Rebekah and Emily.

Andrew McLean

Accountant & Manager

Andrew McLean graduated from university in Scotland with a BA Hons in Accountancy.  Andrew accepted a role within a local accountancy practice while studying for his professional qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is currently registered as a FCCA with the Institute.

Prior to joining us in 2017, Andrew worked in several accountancy practices as well as working in a local government organisation.

Andrew is a knowledgeable and attentive accountant, who aims to make clients feel relaxed and comfortable while assisting their business to grow successfully.

Patricia Bassett

HND Business Studies, BA (Hons)
Practice Manager

Patricia previously studied at the University of Ulster and achieved a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies and has also worked in the Post Office for over 20 years.

Patricia started working in the Cregagh Road office when Andrew took over the practice in 2017. She now works in the Lisburn office and is responsible for VAT returns, CIS filing, payroll duties and bookkeeping. She enjoys interacting with clients and helping them with any queries in relation to their accounts or returns.

Aimie Welsh

Office Administrator

Started working in Cregagh Road office in October 2023 and would be the first point of contact in the Belfast office.

She provides bookkeeping services for our clients. In her spare time Aimie likes to travel,  going to the beach and enjoys swimming and paddleboarding. She has just recently passed her driving test and can be seen driving around in Sally her little purple car.

Jenna Warnock

Office Administrator

Started working in the Lisburn office in May 2024. She provides bookkeeping services and would take the lead in ensuring our anti money laundering records for clients are up to date.

Jenna has previously worked within the banking sector and held a managerial role in the retail sector.  In her spare time Jenna likes to spend time with family and friends and listening to live music.

Lesley Grant

Payroll Supervisor

Started working with us in 2019 and is responsible for the management of our clients ’payrolls and has over 20 years’ experience in accounts and payroll processing.

Lesley has previously worked in the accountancy sector and provided inhouse payroll services to a local housing association. She brings a wealth of experience to our team providing a helpful and approachable service for clients.
